Class Descriptions

Pilates Mat Class

Improve core control, coordination, standing alignment and balance with Pilates mat exercises. There are 20 different movement phrases, which are performed seated or while lying down on your back, side or front. Emphasis is on precise alignment, breathing and efficient sequencing of movement.

Pilates Mat classes are offered to all members at no cost and on a drop-in basis. See our Pilates class schedule for meeting times.

Pilates Evolved Mat Class

This class integrates the Pilates principles of core control with spinal mobility. Each participant uses a foam roller and a resistance ring to develop efficient movement strategies in numerous positions, from standing on the roller to lying on your back on the roller. You'll improve coordination, standing alignment and balance.

Allegro Reformer

This class offers something for everyone -- whether you want to improve your sports performance, stretch tight muscles or find new ways to challenge your mind and body. Add more balance to your exercise program while simultaneously stretching and strengthening your entire body.

The Allegro Reformer is a compact version of the Studio Reformer, a versatile piece of Pilates exercise studio equipment. Reformer sessions offer a focused and synergistic workout, improving total system strength, tone, flexibility and coordination. Working on your own Allegro Reformer, you’ll be guided through 10 to 12 different exercises designed to stretch, strengthen and define your entire body. Special attention will be paid to attaining correct alignment and performing fluid movement progressions.

Prerequisites for joining this class are an assessment session with a Pilates trainer to determine skill level. Additional studio time may be required to participate. New class series begin every month. Each class meets for one hour. Participation is limited to 10 people per class. Check the Pilates class schedule for specific dates and times.
